SERVICE IS OUR MISSION
Federated into the General Federation of Women's Clubs in August 1927, the GFWC-WV Williamson Woman's Club has been serving the Tug Valley area (Mingo County, West Virginia and eastern Pike County, Kentucky) in multiple capacities through volunteerism.​ This month, we are celebrating our 99th anniversary!

On Saturday, Oct. 3, our club was represented at the 90th GFWC West Virginia Southwestern District Fall Convention. Club members attending convention were: President Alisha Toler in her capacity as district secretary; 1st Vice President Terri Mills who served as an election teller; Secretary Leigh Ann Ray in her capacity as co-membership chairman for the district; and immediate past club secretary Sherry Hatfield.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, we will host our first grief support group meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Williamson Fire Department. The support group is free to the public and is a part of our health and wellness component.

We are currently accepting nominations for our "Operation Thank You" veterans' baskets. A link to the form in located under the "Projects" tab. Just scroll down and click on "Veterans Baskets."

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as Fire Safety and Prevention Month. Our Club members want to encourage everyone to get their mammograms, support your local domestic violence shelter, and fire proof your homes and businesses.
